Jurors in Jonathan Michael Monk’s first-degree murder trial on Wednesday were shown graphic autopsy photos and heard testimony from a forensic pathologist about the fatal wounds suffered by four prison workers during the failed escape attempt at Pasquotank Correctional Institution in October 2017.

Monk is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of PCI maintenance mechanic Geoffery Howe, sewing plant manager Veronica Darden, and correctional officers Wendy Shannon and Justin Smith.
