Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, High Point Police were called to Fairview Elementary School, responding to a missing child call.

The child’s mother, Tziah Rorie, 26, told school staff her child did not get on the right school bus.

Officers soon found the child at a relative's home, where family members say the child usually goes after school.

As Rorie was leaving the campus, multiple witnesses say that she yelled threats.

Not long after, Rorie returned to the school and was arrested.

Officers charged her with communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property.

"The High Point Police Department has a zero-tolerance policy for threatening violence at a school," said Chief Curtis Cheeks III. "These threats aren't funny and will not be interpreted as a joke. We will investigate these threats every time and arrest the person or people responsible. We want to do all we can to ensure our schools are a safe space for growth and development with limited distractions."
