Gardening time and a visit to the Horticultural Art Society Annual Plant Sale, a tradition since 1962 with plants selected by local gardening experts for this area including roses, shrubs, grasses, vines, vegetables, cacti and succulents. The hummers have arrived and they're the colorful reason for the annual community Friends of Cheyenne Cañon Hummingbird Festival at Starsmore Discovery Center in North Cheyenne Cañon Park, 2120 S. Cheyenne Cañon Road. Hummingbird talk at 10:15 a.m. and 1 p.m., a guided walk, Pueblo Raptor Center talk at 11:30 a.m., vendors and arts and crafts projects. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free. The festival is a 31-year arrival-of-the-hummingbirds tradition.

An afternoon for craft beer lovers, SoCo Frost Fest, with breweries from across the region, runs 1-5 p.m. in Bear Creek Regional Park. Vote for your favorite collaboration sample. Join the nation's largest single-day food drive by leaving bags of nonperishable food in bags by mailboxes Saturday before the mail is delivered. It's the 32nd annual Stamp Out Hunger by letter carriers and food collected goes to Care & Share Food Bank, other food banks and pantries. Top needs: high-protein foods like peanut butter, tuna, beans and fruits and vegetables, low-sugar cereals, mac and cheese dinners and 100% fruit juice.

Opening weekend for the 33rd annual Governor's Art Show & Sale featuring 62 artists from throughout Colorado. Through June 6, daily except Mondays, at Loveland Museum, 503 N.
